FLAGC Annual Conference
Florida Association of Genetic Counselors
4.30-5.1, 2026

We are proud to host wellness programing at the FLAGC annual conference:

WELCOME GATHERING
Professional Well-Being and Ethical Responsibility in Genetic Counseling
4.30.26. 1 hour

1 category 1 contact hour/0.1 CEUs

This session examines our ethical code to take responsibility for our emotional health as it impacts our professional judgment and performance. We’ll reframe well-being as a professional competency, not an afterthought.

Participants will review how personal well-being intersects with clinical decision-making, professional competence and sustainability of practice. In a workshop setting, we will engage in connection, creating a setting where genetic counselors feel valued and experience belonging.

This grounding session sets the tone for intentional presence, connection, and self-compassion.

CREATIVITY & CALM
Creativity and Cognitive Performance in Genetic Counseling Practice

4.30.26. 1 hour

1 category 1 contact hour/0.1 CEUs

This workshop explores evidence-based research on how structured creative engagement supports cognitive flexibility, emotional regulation, and sustained attention.

After we review the science behind creativity, we’ll roll up our sleeves and paint a DNA molecule together! We’ll quiet the mind, tap into flow, and reconnect with curiosity and joy. No artistic experience nor supplies (we’ll gift them to you!) required!

The artistic exercise functions as a structured application designed to support wellbeing, and enhance professional functioning and clinical effectiveness in genetic counseling practice.

BEYOND BURNOUT
Burnout for Genetic Counselors: Contributors and Mitigation Strategies
4.30.26. 2 hours

2 category 1 contact hours/0.2 CEUs

Learn how stress lives in the body and experience a simple, science-informed breathwork practice to support nervous system regulation.

We’ll explore how burnout shows up in genetic counseling and learn practical strategies for conserving energy through clear, values-aligned boundaries that you can take back into your work and life.

SIP & SHARE
Sip & Share: Boundaries, Resilience, and Sustainable Practice
5.1.26. 1 hour

1 category 1 contact hour/0.1 CEUs

Join us for a cozy, facilitated discussion over our morning coffee/tea centered on themes from The Let Them Theory book by Mel Robbins. This conversational session invites reflection, shared wisdom, and connection around letting go of what no longer serves us and stepping into our own power.

Purchase and read (or listen!) to the book in advance for an additional 10.6 CEU hours! Reading the book in advance is encouraged, but not required to participate.

Hey FL GCs!

I’m Daniela Young, a genetic counselor and the founder of The Ōnda Collective, an evidence-based educational platform and community for personal growth and well-being for professionals.

I’m so grateful to FLAGC for inviting me to bring Ōnda energy to your annual education conference, and I’m truly looking forward to connecting with you.

Together, we’ll blend evidence-based insight with hands-on creativity, intentionality, and connection to explore what sustainable well-being really looks like in our profession. You’ll find the agenda and session details below.

This is an invitation to pause, exhale, and reconnect—with yourself, your community, and the parts of you that deserve care just as much as the patients, clients (and bosses!) you serve.

See you in April!
